Artists Statement
My paintings deal with those fleeting glimpses of the past in the landscape we see around us. These can be old trackways, fragments of buildings – the marks we humans leave on the planet as we pass through life. I often include figures, which hint at past society in an ephemeral way and attempt to create a sense of magic and mystery – which is still true if you stand still and listen.
